The biggest races are the Grand Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and the Prix de la République, held on the first and last Sundays in October respectively at Auteuil and Longchamp. The week starting the last Sunday in June sees nine big events, at Auteuil, Longchamp, St-Cloud and Chantilly. If you want to try your luck with betting, any bar or café with the letters PMU will take your money on a three-horse bet, known as le tiercé.
