Kazinczy Ferenc út, Déryne út enters from the south. As you walk south on Déryne út, the Museum of Actors and History of Theater is at 3 Déryné út. It is the site of the first theater in Hungary dedicated to “Magyarul” (the Hungarian language). It opened in 1823. Today it has a five-stage theater complex and museum, as the National Theater, blessed with the most modern technology.
You may be able to get a booking for a good play, but don’t expect English. The historical archives, which include wax figures, are worth a walkthrough. Having completed this exhibit and booked your tickets, you may want to see one more site in the old town.
