Take the SS397 north out of town along the right bank first to arrive at Monte Castello di Vibio. Although of Etruscan origin, this town grew to its present form under the rule of the Vibia family, one of the most important dynasties in the area. Its major sight – apart from the splendid views over the entire Tiber Valley between Perugia and Orvieto – is the beautifully frescoed Teatro della Concordia. Built in 1808, it is one of the smallest theaters in the world, with only 30 stalls in the auditorium. Be sure to reserve well ahead if you want to get a seat.
