One of the best-preserved medieval fortifications in the Veneto region, the Soave castle dates back to the early 10th century, and over the centuries passed into the hands of many prominent ruling families, including the Scaligeri, who enlarged the castle in the 13th century. This medieval castle’s walls cascade down the hillside and enclose the small town center. The castle features a drawbridge at the entrance, several rooms decorated in period furnishings and a small study with several paintings of Dante and other illustrious figures.
