El Parador de Gibralfaro is a choice place to stay in Málaga. Located on the top of mount Gibralfaro, up a winding road with fancy mansions surrounded by pines and eucalyptus, the hotel has a great view of the city and the bay. The 38 rooms are elegantly furnished in mauve tones and burgundies, with balconies and spacious sitting areas done up with nicely upholstered reading chairs. There is a swimming pool on the top floor and a terrace restaurant with equally appealing views. The castle next door and the setting keep the place booked, so make reservations.
