Swiss Hotel Miramontes (500 meters/1,645 feet from the soccer field on the road from Las Juntas,6 rooms, restaurant). Set up on a sunny hill, the Miramontes is a small hotel run by a Swiss couple. The four standard rooms are off a hallway that leads to their appealing restaurant (it’s open for lunch and dinner and features international cuisine, including Swiss).
The best of the bedrooms is the first one, which has big bright corner windows. Each good-size room has a queen and twin bed and natural wood-paneled walls. The two rooms in the cabin (#7 and 8) are larger, with a small table and chair, shower and bathtub, all wood walls and ceiling, and a veranda.
By showing even a small interest in orchids or butterflies, you may encourage part-owner Walter Faisthuber to take you on a nature walk or butterfly hunt.
