Blekinge

Blekinge, the "Garden of Sweden," has a scenic archipelago, as well as Sweden's only Baroque city and its only remaining naval base. It is of course the country's southeastern-most province, bordered on its north and east by Småland and Scania repectively, and on its south by the Baltic Sea.

Blekinge is one of Sweden's traditional provinces that dates back to at least the 11th century, when it was given to Denmark by Sweden, remaining a part of the Danish kingdom until 1658, before reverting back to Sweden.

Blekinge has a population of just over 150,000. Its principal towns are Sölvesborg, Karlshamn, Karlskrona and Ronneby.
