Milles Tile Factory Tuileries des Milles was used for internment, transit and deportation of Jews from France during WorldWar II. Thousands of Jews passed through Les Milles to Auschwitz. Today, the external appearance of the factory, a large, red-brick structure, stands unchanged. Murals in the guards’ refectory were painted by interned artists. The Memorial includes a commemorative pillar along the deportees path and a train carriage of the period. An exhibition inside the carriage can be viewed by appointment.
