Le Castillet is an ancient building on the Place de la Victoire. It is among Perpignan's most distinguishable landmarks, with the city's logo incorporating a sketch of it. The building itself dates from the 1300s, and was converted to a prison facility during the 1400s. Its brilliant red-brick exterior with domineering towers gives it considerable curb appeal, although a tour of its interior, which includes a visit to the museum housed in it, is well worth it.

Open every day but Tuesday. From October 1 to April 30, it’s open 11 am to 5:30 pm, and from May 1 to September 30, it’s open 10 am to 7 pm. Entry is €4.
