Aggtelek is one of the great bird-watching areas of the world. Probably the greatest concentratrion of birds outside of the Amazon and Africa will delight any bird watcher. Whatever your inclination, you cannot but be captivated watching thousands of birds take flight in one great flock across the sky. Try to time your trip with the arrival of the storks in the spring. Corvina’s A Guide to Bird Watching In Hungary tells you the best places and permit requirements, if needed. Spring and autumn are the top seasons, but the best month is May.
