The Upper Tisza has the best broadwaters of Europe. The water runs swiftly in some parts, but is generally only a moderately challenging run, and in some parts an easy beginner’s excursion as well. The Upper Tisza has the best broadwaters of Europe. The water runs swiftly in some parts, but is generally only a moderately challenging run, and in some parts an easy beginner’s excursion as well. At the same time, the wild waters of the Hernád and Bódva are only for advanced kayakers and canoers. Usually one- or two-seat kayaks or canoes are best. An experienced tour guide will also be able to guide you away from protected species, just enough so you don’t disturb their habitat, yet close enough to get a picture that will serve a lifetime of memories.
