Stroll by Ra Stua on a chilly winter night and you’ll be lured into one of Cortina’s oldest restaurants (circa 1930), if not by the fabulous aromas wafting out the door, than certainly by the glowing caminetto (grill/fireplace) visible near its entrance. Restored in 2002, the majolica stove and the warm, intimate atmosphere were preserved, as was the unfailingly good food. With a blazing grill, you might have guessed that their specialties include grilled meats, meat on the spit and the much-loved Fiorentina (Bistecca Fiorentina, or Florentine-style steak). The pasta is homemade, and, thanks to a lively young management, dishes are innovative. Many of their products, including their wine, come from the owner’s family farm, Vitis & Vita in the Euganean Hills. A very good choice any day of the week.
