This historic landmark hotel located in a 15th-century structure that once served as the Palazzo dei Capitani for the Republic of Venice, has functioned as a hotel since the late 1800s hosting many illustrious guests, including Spain’s King Juan Carlos I, Maria Callas (the legendary soprano) and Vivian Leigh (Gone With the Wind). Many of the luminaries who laid their heads on pillows here did so in the hotel’s finest room, #123, with a beautiful wooden balcony and an exceptional view of the port. Today’s owners take great care to make sure the service matches the hotel’s reputation, and fortunately it does.
