This is one of the city’s most sought-after hotels primarily for its hospitable staff, convenient location and inexpensive rooms. On a side street near the Piazza Bra, Silvia Polmari and Diana Castellani have run the small 19-room establishment for years. The small foyer seems a bit outdated, but the rooms are quite comfortable, albeit simple, each tastefully decorated and with en suite bathrooms.
It is in the heart of the action in Verona and can get a bit noisy even in the evenings, but overall this is one of the better values in town. Breakfast is available (though not included) and is served in an indoor room and outdoors on the street-side terrace. The ladies are very helpful and speak English well, always offering useful travel advice to guests. If you’re traveling solo, there are singles as well.
