Bass Harbor Inn, a totally restored 1870 house convenient to the wonders of New England's Acadia National Park, is located in the center of an unspoiled working village sheltering the region's largest lobster fleet. Here, on the quiet side of Mount Desert Island away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor is life as it has been lived in Maine for generations. Bass Harbor Inn offers a wide variety of lodging accommodations ranging from a double with a half bath to a studio on the top floor with kitchenette, balcony, beamed cathedral ceiling, and breathtaking views. The rooms either look out across the harbor to the island-studded bay, or face toward the beautiful mountains of Mount Desert. Each morning, a deluxe continental breakfast including home baked breads, cold cereal, juice, and coffee is served. Both the town and the region teem with opportunities for visitors. Bass Harbor is a yachting center featuring the R.L. Gott, which departs daily from the town dock for tours of the harbor and local islands. Come to Bass Harbor and let the Bass Harbor Inn show you the real Maine.
