One neighborhood`s loss is another`s gain. At least that was the case when Cambridge lost the venerable Anago Bistro to the city across the river. Now settled in Boston`s Lenox Hotel under the name Anago, the snug neighborhood spot is now a glamorous, big-city gal. The menu offers entrees ranging from hearty comfort food to exquisite presentations of smoked sturgeon with caviar. Sweet toothed-diners, take note: save room for dessert, particularly one appropriately named "Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate." Located in the historic Lenox Hotel, this fine dining restaurant offers guests an eclectic American cuisine. Expect the average entrée to cost over $20. Atmosphere: Anago. is accented by dark woods, and the lighting is via chandelier. The use of elegant fabrics compliment the overall look and feel, and vaulted ceilings add depth with an architectural impact. The restaurant is spacious and attracts young upscale professionals. Table talk is no problem here - noise level is unobtrusive. Also, you`ll notice that there is an open kitchen. More Reasons to Go: Anago is appropriate (if not ideal) for anniversaries, other romantic evenings and groups. Eating & Drinking: Open for dinner. There`s a Sunday brunch.A full selection of alcoholic beverages are served, and you`ll find that there is a good selection of wines. In addition, the restaurant has a seated bar inside. Notable Mention: Winner of Wine Spectator Award of Excellence; 2nd year winner of the Sante Outstanding Wine & Service Award; voted one of Esquire Magazine`s Best New US Restaurants; and one of Gourmet Magazine`s 20 Best Restaurants in Boston. Of Interest: This country-inn style restaurant features a wood-fired grill, rotisserie, and a wood-oven.
