Pierrefeu-du-Var

Pierrefeu-du-Var

Pierrefeu-du-Var, situated at the edge of the Maures and surrounded by outstanding Côte de Provence vineyards (most of which can be visited for tastings), is the ideal place for a low-key rambling vacation. The most strenuous walk is about 15 km/9.3 miles to the sea at La Londe, along the GR51. The town itself is small and typical of the region, but if you like fountain squares, narrow lanes lined with ancient stones and tile-roofed houses, it is full of charm. At its highest point, near the Sainte Croix Chapel, it offers panoramic views of the Golfe de Saint Tropez.
