If you are a jazz fan, you have plenty of options in July on the Riviera. Like Antibes, Nice also has a major jazz festival that has been going on for decades. Held in Cimiez Park and the Roman Amphitheater, it attracts 45,000 jazz buffs for eight days of music, 75 concerts, 500 musicians. Three stages are kept busy from 7 pm to midnight every night of the festival. Spectators wander among them – the Roman amphitheater, the Matisse Stage and the Cimiez Gardens, sampling creole food in the restaurant, or trying local specialties at various food stalls. Meanwhile, all over Nice, an alternative festival fills the city with music all day long until 6 pm.
